Auto-Pause
Sequences stop the moment prospects reply.
No manual intervention. No awkward follow-ups landing after a conversation has started. ForgeSend detects replies across all connected inboxes and pauses sequences automatically.

How it works
Instant detection across all inboxes
ForgeSend monitors all connected inboxes for inbound replies — Gmail, Microsoft 365, and SMTP. The moment a reply arrives on any inbox, the sequence for that contact pauses immediately. Detection runs continuously across all inboxes without manual polling required from the operator.
Lead status updates automatically
When a reply is detected, the contact's lead status updates from Active to REPLIED. All pending send jobs for that contact are cancelled. The contact is removed from the active sequence cleanly — no orphaned jobs, no accidental sends. The status update is permanent and visible on the lead list detail page.
Visible in the Reply Box
Every detected reply surfaces in the unified Reply Box regardless of which inbox received it. Campaign name, step number, and inbox are shown per reply. Mark as read to track what has been actioned. The Reply Box gives you a complete picture of every inbound conversation across all your campaigns.
Works as a hard guarantee
Auto-pause is enforced at the backend sending layer — not just the UI. Even if the campaign builder is open, even if a send job is mid-queue, the pause fires before the next step dispatches. The backend checks lead status before every send job and skips REPLIED contacts at the point of dispatch. No UI action required.
Common questions
Does auto-pause work across all inbox types?
Yes. Gmail OAuth, Microsoft OAuth, and SMTP/IMAP inboxes are all monitored for inbound replies.
What if a prospect replies to a later step?
Auto-pause cancels all pending jobs for the contact regardless of which step the reply came through on.
Can I re-activate a paused contact's sequence?
Not currently — once a contact is marked REPLIED their sequence is permanently paused by design.
Is auto-pause enforced at the backend?
Yes. Lead status is checked at the point of dispatch — not just in the UI. The pause is a backend guarantee.
Never send a follow-up after a reply.
Auto-pause is enforced at the backend — not just a UI toggle.
